Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ: FAQ

What kind of data do you work on?

Geo-spatial databases, asset management data, SQL data, just about any table that needs updating. For example; an old table of clients that needs to be groomed; or database of city assets that needs to be modernized. We also provide cadastral mapping, parcel research, E911 and NG911 datasets, and utilities spatial data services.

Why is clean data important?

The old adage garbage in, garbage out is still true today. Companies and cities rely on data to make informed reliable decisions. The more accurate the data, the more confident you can be in the analyses. Big data is a big problem if it is bad data.

What is GIS?

GIS stands for Geographical Information Systems, and it is a collection of tools, software, analysis, data, mapping and professionals. Geo-spatial data is a combination of location information and attribute data about that location. The main types of features are points, lines and areas. For example a fire hydrant location tied to when it was installed and last serviced. These features, when layered with the power of data, can be applied to just about any discipline. Over 80% of the world's data can be tied to a location and this data, in the hands of a GIS professional, can unlock a profusion of analytics and information products.
